A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. —Margaret Mead
The HRC maintains an active presence in the Santa Monica Bay area community, through its programs and partnerships with local organizations to focus on issues related to education and diversity.
HRC Santa Monica maintains established relationships with institutions in the community for joint participation with the goal of collaborating and expanding programs that support our mission of creating a more just, equitable and human society. With the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Westside Coalition, the Westside Interfaith Council and the Center for Civic Mediation, the HRC shares commitment to build a better community for all.
In 2012, HRC Santa Monica developed a partnership with the Public Policy Institute at Santa Monica College. In 2014, the HRC endorsed the partnership with the Santa Monica Bahá’í Center, a collaboration that had developed across individual Table Talk events since February 2013, after a webinar entitled “Safeguarding Our Children” and presented by Dr. John Woodall in the aftermath of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. Through these collaborative relationships, HRC Santa Monica participates as a full and valued partner in the design, development, and implementation of programs that benefit the constituents they serve.
